01 Posture
Your Dive Course can be the best experience of your life or the worst. Deluxe Dive offers a very high end Scuba Diving experience and tuition to discerning individuals or very small groups. Far removed from the chaos and rush of conventional, large numbered dive courses, Deluxe Dive is conducted in a pristine environment, with state of the art equipment. Every step towards clients becoming safe, confident and accomplished divers is considered and refined. From the moment clients are collected, through their day, to being returned to their accomodation the experience is at an elite level of professionalism and luxury hospitality. Tuition is tailored to suit clients, allows space and calm to meet all challenges at a speed which engenders real competence and confidence. Equipment that fits perfectly, is new and the best solution to allow clients an in-water experience which will be in the top highlights of their lives. Your Master Instructor
Firstly, Jason has fathomless energy and is a ‘rock’ in the water… it’s his element. His East African sense of fun is contagious and creates a momentum that holds his students right in the the moment, full of joy. Jason began diving in Byron Bay in 2001. With a rich history of freediving, sailing and game fishing around the world, Scuba Diving was a perfect fit for Jason. Within a year Jason was Instructing and has never stopped. “I teach from an ironclad foundation of diver safety over any other factor or influence, my record is perfect. After this my focus is on two things; firstly creating a space for my clients to genuinely feel real confidence and be at ease underwater, then secondly to provide a platform for my clients to be so immersed in the underwater world that every other factor, worry, concern in their lives vanishes and they are more present in that moment than ever… that they experience the wonder they once felt as children and they feel genuinely alive. Creating adventures and memories that they will always carry forwards on the journey to creating more and more. Too often subject matter experts in one field are unable to show understanding and competency across others. Clients of Deluxe Dive will be used to and require expertise not only in the diving but across every moment of their experience. Jason has managed and companioned clients from remarkable social heights - from the General of the Army of the Peoples Republic of China to leaders of Business, Billionaires and A-list Celebrities. Jason has ensured the safety and enjoyment of people from across the world and is acutely aware of client expectations, needs and feelings. Discretion is always paramount and clients are given complete respect. Scuba Diving can all too often be the very best experience or under wrong, immature leadership, be the worst. The Sea is supremely powerful and demands respect and genuine preparedness from those that engage such a dynamic environment. To make sure that clients are totally confident, safe and ready for only positive adventures the Instructor must be very skilled in pre-preparing Clients to deal with all potential challenges. There is a tendency in many larger operations to sugar-coat clients expectations rather than arm them with the skills needed to deal with challenges in the Sea. This conduct is dangerous and leaves divers underprepared and in compromising situations. Deluxe Dive puts diver safely unequivocally first above all other considerations. Client expectations will be met. Memories of a lifetime will be created. Clients will feel a sense of unparalleled achievement and pride. Your instructor, Jason will be frank and direct not only about perfect conditions but also about challenges that can present themselves and the subsequent skills to always overcome them. Scuba Diving is a very safe and wonderful pursuit when safety overrides ego and distraction. This philosophy underpins all of Jason’s instruction and sees him with over 1000 students from Open Water to Dive Master that have never been involved in any Diving injury or incident.

Safety and Weather
The brochure showed sunny sky's and dolphins? Yes, well we can only control what we can control, the rest we prepare for, we train for. The key to safety is being open and honest regarding any potential challenges we may encounter whist diving. When a diver encounters a challenge they have previously discussed and prepared for, they do so from a foundation of calm resourcefulness. Overcoming challenges whilst we train is invaluable and builds the best divers. With me by your side at all times you will purposefully use your pool training to take whatever is the best action to address what is in front of you. The Sea must always be respected and if conditions dictate, Deluxe Dive will shift in harmony with them. We can change locations as required and if necessary, reschedule. Part of your training as a new Diver is to read the environment, attune to the dive site and make well considered decisions. Safety will always come first, above all else. Sharks are often in the back of peoples minds when they first being their diving journey, this is completely natural. Modern media has painted a highly graphic and inaccurate image of sharks and their behaviour. Sharks are naturally not at all interested with the unnatural commotion associated with scuba divers and their equipment - we are quite alien to them. This you will learn over time and with experience, however I want you to feel at ease from day one. To this end, if you feel it would give you more confidence, there are significant levels of shark security I can implement as required. Sharkbands will be used by all Deluxe Dive Divers. Shark Shields are a further technology - very effective tested and backed by hard scientific evidence - that can be employed if you desire.

The Scuba Diving equipment that you will rely on, will determine the quality of the experience. When you don’t notice it at all - perfect. Dive Sites
This is where it gets interesting. Deluxe Dive Clients, owing to their position, literally get to choose their own adventure here. I can conduct the Pool Training here in Byron Bay. Everything is in place for that…alternatively, I can come to you and do the pool training at your home…in your Resort or in confined water off your Super Yacht. Once the two days of Pool/Confined Water training, we need to decide where you would like to complete your Open Water [Sea] Training. Once more, Bryon Bay has Julian Rocks - a stunning Marine reserve…we cam complete the training there. This can be done by piggy backing off one of the existing Dive Operations - this allows you to immerse in and learn from a busy dive operation. Or you can choose to charter a local dive boat for yourself, this option is a very calm luxurious pathway to adventure. A further option lies in deciding to conduct your Open Water Dive Training in an exotic location and then engage me as your Dive Guide for a week or two of diving - perhaps even allow me to oversee your PADI Advanced Diver certification, in between pleasure dives. Build your confidence and explore to your hearts content. Introductory Dives
No Diving License needed! The easiest way to dive: come diving with me by your side, after just a short briefing and a few easy skills mastered behind your Yacht. You and your friends do this once then you can dive with me anytime you like for the rest of your trip - again and again. The PADI Introductory Dive allows me to take up to 4 people diving to a depth of 12m. With me onboard your vessel, you and your guests get to dive at will. Explore each new reef and anchorage. No fuss, just fun - I manage everything technical and ensure you have the trip of a lifetime whilst staying safe and sound.

Diving Photography
Your back in New York, behind your desk… deep in thought. You glance up and something catches your eye - a framed picture. Within seconds you are transported back to that moment. You, 15 meters down, that split second you saw your first Grey Nurse Shark at Julian Rocks, pictured perfectly, with a very toothy smile in front of you. You smile, savouring the adrenaline that the memory sends… now that day you were alive. Getting images like the one described above allow you to savour moments where you were so present and so connected to a real spirit of adventure. They allow friends and family to see another side of you, a person that goes into the Sea, submerges and takes embraces everything put in front of them. A hero. Deluxe Dive has its own photographer - Núria Palat. Núria’s skill is not that she is a Marine Biologist or expert in technical diving, her skill is so much better. She shoots her subject with a depth of emotional intelligence. Núria can compose you within the underwater world perfectly. She captures the spirit of your experience. Her images hold you in that moment and give others a taste of the emotions and exhilaration you earned.

Helicopter Diving
In a world of restrictions, rules and moderation, choose to do something extreme. Create a day where you start in an event that will sit right up there in the highlights of your life… You wake up after a night spent dreaming of what lies ahead. Today’s the day! You’re picked up in a Jeep by your instructor and whist you sip your first Byron Hinterland coffee, whisked off to Ballina airport. “Into the Chopper” - our pilot, used to escorting celebrities visiting the area loves diving! The sound of the rotors fight the sound of your racing heart as we follow the coastline North. A host of incredible dive sites suddenly within reach… Landing on a deserted beach, white sand and clear water awaits.

As a Master Instructor I can bring every single element necessary to conduct your Dive Course at your pool, off your Super Yacht. I can even come to the resort you are holidaying at and teach your family/friends to dive as a group.
The point is that you receive the best of everything - training, equipment and experience, without having to go anywhere.
Your pool
Dive Courses at your home are amazing. I arrive at your at your property, set up around your pool and we begin. The experience is seamless. You learn at your own speed, in a place you are familiar with, comfortable and without any distraction or interference from others. When we are ready for the Ocean dives, I will have secured the very best of your local dive sites, established relationships with the local Dive Operators. Either we can become pert of their Diving trip - here you get to learn volumes from watching others in their preparations and techniques. Alternatively let me organise a local private charter. The Champagne of diving. The boat, ocean and deck to ourselves - luxury. You finish with your PADI Open Water License.
Your yacht
Owning a Super Yacht gives you access to some of the most beautiful places on earth. What lies beneath the surface is another level of beauty and its all yours with me aboard. I bring everything necessary for me to conduct a full PADI Open Water Dive Course in confined, then water for your family and friends. Make your next voyage the adventure of a lifetime. Once you are certified, the trainings over - you get to pleasure dive for the rest of your voyage. Unlimited Scuba Diving for you, your friends and family. Dive travel and holidays
Make sure your Dive Holiday is epic - one of the top experiences in your life… EVER! It is the unknowns in Scuba Diving that lead to disappointment and challenges underwater. With time so precious in busy lives do you really want to gamble on the quality, safety and professionalism of remote Dive Operators. By the very nature of being in far away, exotic locations, the dive equipment suffers and too often is held together on a wing and a prayer. Furthermore, what may be considered safe Dive Operations in a distant country, may fall far short of PADI standards. Finally, if you are travelling solo, you will simply be allocated another random diver as your dive buddy for your diving. Is he/she safe…could they assist you in an emergency…when they run low on air, your dive is over/cut short… nightmare.
